Accidents Caused by Road Hazards

When you live in a country like the UK you are used to certain hazards and take them on as a part of life. Snow, ice and other weather conditions are something that you would come to expect and are quite a common occurrence. What you often don’t expect is to encounter items that have been dropped on the road or spilt as the result of a negligent driver.
When it comes to snow and ice we all know that it is a fact of life and in many cases something that is quite unpredictable. In many cases, however, the Council have a responsibility to help clear our roads and ensure that at least major arterials are clear and safe to drive on. If the Council doesn’t clear the roads or doesn’t clear them properly, i.e. leaves ice on the roads, then you could be eligible for a compensation claim.
Transportation vehicles are commonplace in the UK and there are many of them found on motorways and highways right around the country. From time to time they can drop items on the road which could spill and cause a potential hazard. Another car could then either hit the items or swerve to avoid the items and hit another car in the process. In this case a claim could be made against the negligent driver.
Another main problem on the roads is potholes, especially ones that have been neglected by the council and not properly treated. If you have been involved in an accident with potholes then you may be eligible to make a claim against the council for compensation.
