This informational article explains the process of becoming a migration agent in Australia. According to the Migration Act from 1958, anyone who wishes to use the knowledge or experience in migration processes and procedures to provide assistance and advice to a person wishing to obtain Australian permanent residency visa needs to become registered as a migration agent. The body that assesses the application to become a migration agent in Australia is Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA).
